What is ARBD Care?

Alcohol-Related Brain Damage (ARBD) refers to the range of cognitive and physical impairments caused by long-term alcohol misuse affecting the brain. People with ARBD experience challenges such as memory loss, confusion, difficulty with attention and motivation, and other mental health issues. Effective ARBD care requires understanding these complex needs and providing a supportive environment that encourages skill-building and recovery.

Care for individuals with ARBD focuses on helping residents regain control of their lives through tailored activities, structured routines, and meaningful social engagement. ARBD Care at Serenita

Serenita has over 30 years of experience delivering expert care for people with ARBD. Our specialised 3 Step Enablement Programme supports residents to regain independence, live alcohol-free, and develop life skills at their own pace. Residents benefit from a vibrant activities programme that nurtures mind, body, and spirit, including creative workshops, outings, and exercise.

Our home has 34 single rooms, the majority with en-suite facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere where residents are encouraged to participate in daily living skills and enjoy nutritious meals prepared with their involvement. We work closely with families and health professionals to ensure holistic care and ongoing support tailored to each individual.
